Day 2

  • Perdana Quay
  • Teluk Yu
  • Tanjung Rhu
  • Langkawi Craft Cultural Complex
  • Langkawi Fair Shopping Mall

It’s our 2nd day here! Wow, I’ve woken up early without any alarm clock! The first thing I did was to walk to the balcony, look at the scenery and breathe in the fresh air from the mountains nearby. Had a few minutes to myself since the rest are still asleep. Wish I could stay here for the longest time! Super duper relaxing. Awesome!

Since Kosom who was from Cambodia will only arrive in Langkawi today afternoon, we will explore a few places without her. We had our breakfast in the apartment today before driving off to Perdana Quay. More about Perdana Quay coming up soon!

After much photography taken, we move on to Langkawi Craft Cultural Complex ( posts coming up) and stop by Teluk Yu.

On our way to the airport, we stop by Tanjung Rhu beach to purchase our Mangrove Tour Ticket. We stood side by side in silence to feel the calmness of the beach.

At the airport, I manage to grab a Malaysian sim card and we did some shopping there at the airport. I bought Estee Lauder Lip Gloss miniature set of 5 and realised that it was pretty expensive than Singapore. We had a little snacks at Starbucks with Kosom after she checked-out from the immigration.

Once all set and done, we head off to Langkawi Fair Shopping Mall and had our dinner over at Fair Cafe where you can get the Western, Arabic and Indian cuisine. We ordered a fair bit of Western Food, Pizzas and Naan with 3 different gravies to be shared among us. All of us managed to do a bit of shopping too. Bought myself a bag, shawl, honey, rice bar soap, Al-Quran stick and lemongrass ointment. It was pretty cheap. I spent about RM 56 in all, the honey being the most expensive at RM 20.

  1. great post
we expect Langkwai will be very popular for us once we get settled in Penang. They tell us the beaches in Penang are crappy but compared to the cold Northern California beaches we live by now, we think they will be great. If we could only learn to pronounce the place !!

    1. Hi Rodi,
I’m so happy you like the post! Well, one thing about the beaches in Malaysia, the good ones are always off the islands. Where you will need to take boats to those Islands and you’ll find paradise! Langkawi seems to be a great option for your retirement considering that it’s duty free! And everything there is relatively affordable. You should try pastries & sandwiches at ‘La Chocolatine Restaurant’ located at No 3 Jalan Teluk Baru, Pantai Tengah, Langkawi, Malaysia. It is owned by a French guy. Well, who knows, you’ll be having your own business there too someday!
Don’t worry you’ll be able to pronounce the place in no time. -Lia
